Land of Canaan

UK premiere screening of the documentary Land of Canaan at Ropetackle Arts Centre, with Palestinian food and a post-screening conversation.

The London Palestine Film Festival presents the UK premiere of Maggie Lemere's 2025 documentary Land of Canaan (84 minutes), screening at Ropetackle Arts Centre as part of the 'Palestine on Film' season organised by Screen with no Borders. The film follows Nasser Abufarha, who returned to his West Bank village in 2003 and built a movement to protect farmers' ancient olive groves from exploitative middlemen, global agribusiness, the Occupation and expanding settlements. The evening includes a short introduction before the 7:30pm screening, a bowl of Palestinian food served by local chef Soraya at Taarof, and a post-screening conversation from 9:30pm to 10:15pm.
