Beamish screens The Polar Express in its beautifully restored 1950s Grand cinema, recreated in the museum's 1950s Town from the original Ryhope cinema in Sunderland. The film follows a young boy who travels to the North Pole on Christmas Eve, learning about friendship, bravery and the spirit of Christmas. Tickets must be pre-booked online and are not available at the museum; visitors can enter the museum up to an hour before the showing and the cinema 20 minutes beforehand.
