Act of God

A two-hander set in a ten-week poetry-as-therapy course, in which a young man from Wythenshawe talks about everything except the subject he was sent to address.

He does not like therapy and likes poetry less, but each week he brings in a poem. His therapist keeps returning to a single question: whether he is telling the truth, or a story he has repeated until he believes it. An hour of conversation, chess and deflection.
