About

An interactive maths study day for upper KS2 in which pupils solve number, geometry and data puzzles set inside film clips.

Pupils work as detectives, applying upper-KS2 maths to find a missing character across a sequence of film clips ending in the silent era. The session touches number, fractions, word problems, averages, Roman numerals, angles, geometry, reading graphs, measurement, probability and co-ordinates, and is pitched so that pupils who have not yet covered a topic can still take part. The BFI also runs this study day on 18 May 2027, outside the current collection window.
