About
A sixty-minute after-hours twilight tour of Sir John Soane's Museum exploring Soane's fascination with ancient Egypt.
This after-hours tour explores Sir John Soane's engagement with ancient Egypt and how Enlightenment fascination with the ancient past shaped the Egypt of popular imagination. Led by an expert guide, the sixty-minute tour winds through the dark passages of Soane's collection, sharing stories of 19th-century exploits, Egyptian gods and myths, and the Western love-affair with ancient Egypt. Tours are limited to 15 participants and run from 6pm to 7pm and 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
