A screening of Buster Keaton's silent classic The General with a live electronic score performed by Haiku Salut.
MimeLondon, in partnership with Barbican Cinema, presents Buster Keaton's 1926 silent film The General, widely regarded as his greatest achievement. Keaton stars as locomotive driver Johnnie Gray, who chases Yankee spies across the American South to recover his stolen engine, The General, with girlfriend Annabelle aboard. The 75-minute film is shown with a live, melodic electronic score composed and performed by the trio Haiku Salut, whose own score for the film was released as a double LP in 2019.
