Sex and the City: Cambridge Women, Town and Gown

A 90-minute guided walking tour revealing the role of women in shaping Cambridge's university, town and the wider world.

Led by Cambridge Green Badge guides, this walking tour explores women's contributions to the university, the town and beyond. Topics include the female founders of some of the oldest colleges, Cambridge's late granting of degrees to women, the university police force's historic treatment of women on the streets, and Henry VIII's wife credited with saving the colleges. The tour also highlights pioneering women scientists whose achievements were often overlooked, including one whose male colleagues received the Nobel prizes.
