Film Screening – Power Station

A screening of the documentary Power Station, following two Walthamstow artists who set out to make their street solar-powered and off the grid.

Power Station is a documentary directed by artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn, who set out to turn their Walthamstow street into an energy-generating, solar-powered community. Inspired by lockdown mutual aid initiatives, the film charts their journey from pitching the idea to neighbours and sleeping on their roof to raising finance and even bidding for a Christmas number one single. Described as funny and heartwarming, it is a portrait of a local neighbourhood and the power of art in changing minds about sustainable living.
