Black by Day, Red by Night Talk by Brendan Clifford

A free history talk at Tipton Library by Brendan Clifford about his book 'Black by Day, Red by Night: The Black Country – 500 Years in 50 Voices'.

Brendan Clifford, a Warley Woods supporter and local resident, gives a talk about his book 'Black by Day, Red by Night: The Black Country – 500 Years in 50 Voices'. The book gathers writings on the Black Country from a wide range of authors, from well-known figures such as Charles Dickens and Lenny Henry to less familiar writers like John Leland, regarded as one of the first English local historians. Proceeds from book sales support Warley Woods and the Black Country Society. The event is part of Sandwell Libraries and Archives' Literature Festival 2026.
