About
Lukas Kroulik’s photographic and print-based installation explores hidden histories and environmental memory through Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition.
The installation began with a photograph by Frank Hurley found hidden behind a curtain. Kroulik revisited Elephant Island and combines photography, archival fragments, ice and translucent fabric made from recycled plastic to explore survival, memory and the relationship between people and the natural world.
