Salt to Plate by Debasis Biswas

Artist Debasis Biswas combines paintings, sculpture and documentary film to explore the heritage and conservation of north-coast salmon fisheries and the ecology of wild Atlantic salmon.

This exhibition in the Strathnaver Museum Annex brings together paintings, sculptural work and a documentary by local wildlife artist and filmmaker Debasis Biswas. It considers the fishing communities and buildings of the north coast, the history of salmon fisheries and the wider ecology of wild Atlantic salmon. Student work developed with Farr High School and High Life Highland ranger Paul Castle also responds to microplastics and marine litter.
