The Hallelujah House: Inside Handel's HQ
About
An exhibition at Handel Hendrix House marking 25 years of the Brook Street home being open to the public, exploring the music Handel composed and performed there.
Marking 25 years since Handel's London home opened to the public, this exhibition explores the music Handel composed and performed while living at 25 Brook Street. It brings together loans from the National Portrait Gallery, the Foundling Museum, the V&A and The College of Optometrists, alongside rarely displayed objects from the House's own collection. Highlights include The Music Party by Philip Mercier, manuscripts in Handel's own hand, portraits of his musical colleagues, and objects illuminating the music, business and daily routines of his Brook Street life.
