Moor Green Lakes Group Conservation Work Parties 2026–27
About
Scheduled volunteer conservation sessions at Moor Green Lakes cover practical habitat tasks, including shoreline and island clearance, fencing repairs, and possible dog-steps work.
The Moor Green Lakes Group’s 2026–27 programme brings volunteers together for practical conservation work around the reserve. Published tasks vary by date. On 8 November, volunteers are scheduled to repair Northeast Colebrook fencing and clear meadow shorelines at Colebrook Lake North and Plover Island. The 10 November plan is shoreline clearance at the north side of Grove Lake, with possible dog-steps refurbishment. The 13 December work covers Goose Island meadow and shoreline, a nearby stream, and Grove Lake Southeast Meadow; the 15 December session is listed as the same plan. The Group says Sunday sessions are led by one of its volunteer leaders, without assigning an individual leader to each date. Tuesday sessions are led by Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership, and the Group asks participants to register interest by email. The July 2026 newsletter invites participants to meet at Moor Green Car Park at 10:15 on these four listed dates. It does not publish an end time or event price. Volunteers are asked to bring their own refreshments and gloves. Tools are provided, and volunteers may bring their own.
