An Evening with Dame Mary Beard: Talking Classics

Historian Dame Mary Beard discusses her book Talking Classics, exploring links between the ancient world and today, at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.

Dame Mary Beard, Professor Emerita of Classics at Cambridge and co-host of the Instant Classics podcast, appears to discuss her book Talking Classics. The book draws connections between antiquity and the present, pairing ancient Greece and Rome with modern figures from revolutionaries to Bob Dylan and Beyoncé, and argues that the deep past still shapes how we see our own world. Doors open at 6.15pm with the event starting at 7pm.
