Ear Trumpet Presents: The Furrow Collective + Heartwood Chorus

Award-winning folk trio The Furrow Collective perform traditional ballads with storytelling visuals, supported by Bristol folk choir Heartwood Chorus.

The Furrow Collective — Lucy Farrell (viola, voice & saw), Emily Portman (banjo, concertina, voice) and Alasdair Roberts (guitars, voice) — play as a trio for this concert, performing contemporary interpretations of traditional songs and balladry from England, Scotland and beyond. Their storytelling focus extends to their Cantastoria project, with hand-turned crankie theatre scrolls illustrating the songs' stories. Support comes from Heartwood Chorus, a Bristol folk choir performing original arrangements of traditional songs and modern folk material.
