About

imitating the dog present a projection and live-performance work at Lancaster Priory inspired by astronaut Jerry Linenger's letters home from the Mir space station.

Dear Earthling… is a new projection work by festival favourites imitating the dog, staged in Lancaster Priory Church as part of Light Up Lancaster. It draws on the letters astronaut Jerry Linenger wrote home to his baby son during his five-month stay aboard the Mir space station in 1997. Combining live music, spectacular visuals and live performance, the piece reflects on absence, loss and what it is to leave life behind and explore beyond human boundaries.
