The Octet – Chamber Studio at Kings Place

Chamber Studio presents music by Webern, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn for string quartet and octet, with the Elias, Elmore and Isla Quartets named in the headline bill.

The programme pairs Webern’s Fünf Sätze with Shostakovich’s Two Pieces for String Octet and Mendelssohn’s String Octet in E-flat. The headline bills the Elias, Elmore and Isla Quartets; a later Mendelssohn paragraph instead names the Talland Quartets alongside Elias, so the final ensemble list remains unclear. The concert is advertised as approximately 60 minutes without an interval.
