The Decline of Western Civilization Part III

Penelope Spheeris's documentary follows homeless young people in late-1990s Los Angeles who embrace a punk existence of music, drugs and defiance of authority.

This documentary turns its camera on a community of homeless teenagers living rough on the streets of Los Angeles at the end of the 1990s, united by a punk ethos that rejects mainstream society. Filmmaker Penelope Spheeris, known for the earlier entries in her Decline of Western Civilization series, captures their daily lives alongside appearances from punk figures such as Rick Wilder, Flea and Keith Morris. The result is a raw, music-driven portrait of youth alienation.
