Out of the Box Event

Author Emily Garside discusses her book Out of the Box, a celebration of queer television, in conversation hosted by Mikey Bell at Book Space Cardiff.

Emily Garside joins Book Space Cardiff for an evening conversation about her book Out of the Box, hosted by Mikey Bell. The book explores queer television from Queer as Folk and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Schitt's Creek and Heartstopper, examining how genre shapes LGBTQ+ visibility on screen and how queer viewers find themselves in TV stories. It also addresses queerbaiting, the 'bury your gays' trope and fan responses. Books will be available to buy on the night or can be preordered.
