About
Meeting Point explores the ancient geology of Scotland’s Western Isles through the combined works of Jake Harvey RSA and Helen Douglas.
Inspired by the Lewisian Gneiss complex, one of the oldest rock formations in the UK, the exhibition draws on research into the landscape of North Uist and Berneray. Harvey’s sculptural works explore stone’s form and tactile qualities, while Douglas traces its intricate layers through photography and print. Their shared enquiry offers a poetic reflection on the immense timescales and natural processes that have shaped the landscape.
