About

The Brigantes Orchestra performs Britten, Bach and Stravinsky in a programme of smaller-scale orchestral works at Sheffield Cathedral.

The Brigantes Orchestra, conducted by Quentin Clare, presents a programme exploring music as conversation across three centuries. It opens with Britten's Sinfonietta, Op. 1, then traces its ancestry back to Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 and Concerto for Flute, Violin and Keyboard, BWV 1044, before closing with Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks Concerto. Laura Jellicoe (flute) and David Milsom (keyboard) appear as soloists, with an interval and a licensed bar available.
