HOTH Helloween Madness 2026 - Ellie On The Humber

A six-hour night race on the Humber Bridge on Halloween, where runners and walkers complete as many 4-mile laps as they can between 6pm and midnight.

Hell On The Humber's Helloween Madness is a six-hour endurance night race on the Humber Bridge, run in memory of Ellie Penrose and renamed Ellie On The Humber. Participants run, jog or walk as many 4-mile laps of the bridge as possible between 6pm and midnight, with distances anywhere from 6 to 44 miles and a minimum of one lap every three hours. Fancy dress is optional and popular, and every finisher receives a shirt and medal. Participants must be 16 or over (under-18s need parental consent); a number of places are donated to the Ellie Penrose Fund, with those runners asked to raise sponsorship of at least the cost of an entry.
