About

Architects Bob Allies and Eimear Hanratty present and discuss the new Stratford Waterfront cultural quarter in East London.

Part of the C20 Society's 21st Century Architecture lecture series, this talk focuses on the Stratford Waterfront development at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which brings together new venues for the London College of Fashion, the V&A, BBC Music and Sadler's Wells alongside 600 homes. Bob Allies (Allies and Morrison) presents the new buildings for London College of Fashion and BBC Music, while Eimear Hanratty (O'Donnell + Tuomey Architects) discusses the designs of V&A East and Sadler's Wells Dance Theatre. The presentations are followed by a discussion of the joys and pitfalls of working on such prestigious projects, chaired by Sandy Rattray. The event runs in person and online via Zoom, with a recording available to bookers for two weeks.
