Exhibition: Mutations in Bloom and Ruff by Patti Smith

Patti Smith’s ceramic wall plaques bring together mutated flowers and Elizabethan ruffs to explore nature, industry and pollution.

Smith’s clay plaques combine floral forms and Elizabethan figures with sculpted detail, glazes and textures. The work considers how nature might change under pollution and reflects on industry’s effects on people and place.
