Absolute Beginner Creative Writing Course

A five-session biweekly beginner creative writing course at The Writers Workshop in Sheffield, run by facilitator Raquel Vogl.

This five-week biweekly course is aimed at complete beginners and anyone wanting to establish a regular writing practice. Each two-hour session combines writing exercises, craft exploration and discussion, with prompts suitable for fiction, non-fiction or poetry, and optional opportunities to share work. Participants take home exercises and tips to build their practice, and the course aims to foster a friendly, supportive writing community. Sessions run fortnightly from November 2026 to January 2027; the venue has no step-free access and the course is for ages 18 and over.
