Winter Bird Safari at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve
About
A guided 3km winter bird walk at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve with expert James Duncan, viewing waders, seabirds and ducks from the hides.
Sussex Wildlife Trust runs a circular walk of roughly 3km around Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, visiting several bird hides to see winter waders, seabirds and ducks, many of them visitors from further north. Guide James Duncan points out the birds and shares the stories of their journeys, with opportunities for questions along the way. The gently-paced walk lasts about three hours and starts from the Rye Harbour Discovery Centre; binoculars are recommended, with some pairs available to loan. Participants must be at least 14 years old, and the route is unsuitable for manual wheelchairs.
