A one-day beginner WSET Level 1 wine course with tastings of nine wines, food pairing and a multiple-choice exam.
This one-day classroom course is aimed at people with little or no wine experience, whether considering a career in hospitality or simply curious about wine. Students learn to taste using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting, explore major grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon, and cover food matching plus wine service and storage. The day includes tastings of nine wines, a practical food and wine pairing exercise, and a 45-minute 30-question multiple-choice exam; a pass mark of 70% earns a WSET digital certificate.
