Read to the Beat Music Workshops at Guildford Library
About
A one-hour family music workshop where Intergenerational Music Making turns a featured book into songs for children aged 0-5 and their grown-ups.
Surrey Libraries hosts Intergenerational Music Making (IMM) for a Read to the Beat workshop inspired by this year's Summer Reading Challenge theme. Families explore a featured book together, discovering its rhythms and sounds, before creating and performing an original song inspired by the story. The hour-long session includes 15 minutes to settle in and 45 minutes of activity, and is suitable for children aged 0-5 with their parents, carers or grandparents, with an inclusive approach for anyone needing additional support.
