About
A prosecutor delays a repeat shoplifter's Christmas in jail by taking her home for the holidays, and the pair unexpectedly fall in love.
This 1940 blend of comedy, romance and drama follows an assistant district attorney who, feeling charitable at Christmas, escorts a habitual shoplifter to her family home rather than leave her locked up over the holidays. Along the way the unlikely travelling companions find themselves falling for one another. Directed by Mitchell Leisen, the film stars Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray.
