German Expressionism: Modern Painting 1900–1918
About
An exhibition brings together German Expressionist paintings from Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reiter, exploring their experiments with colour and modern life.
More than fifty works trace German Expressionism from 1900 to 1918, pairing urban life in Dresden and Berlin with the landscapes and colour experiments associated with Munich and Murnau. The programme considers creative freedom, the disruption of the First World War and the movement’s subsequent legacy. The full published exhibition run continues to 1 August 2027. Historical artists are the subject of the exhibition, not a current performance bill. Public ticket prices have not been announced; members are advertised as free.
