About

The final session of a five-part community project exploring how to remember the women accused of witchcraft in the Glenkens, including Elspeth McKewan.

This is the fifth and final session of WITCH! Restoring Elspeth & the Women They Tried to Erase, a five-part community journey of research, reflection and restorative remembrance. Participants have explored the life of Elspeth McKewan and the women accused of witchcraft in the Glenkens through archives, landscape, genealogy, oral history, poetry and creative practice. In this closing session the group shares ideas, reflects on what has been learned and explores possible next steps for remembering and restoring the memory of Elspeth and the other women, guided by the community's interests and aspirations. The session is facilitated by DJ McDowall of The Imaginarium and The Gallovidian Way and artist Kirsty Harris, and forms part of Pride of Place Dumfries & Galloway.
