Ron Riches traces the history and development of Charing Cross Road, then takes listeners along the street through photographs of its theatres, bookshops, cinemas, music venues, stations and associated people.

The talk has two parts: an account of the area’s history and why the new road was built, followed by a photo-supported walk along it. The walk covers the street’s theatres, bookshops, cinemas, music venues and stations, together with people associated with them.
