About

Streatham Choral and Brandenburg Sinfonia perform Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah at Cadogan Hall.

Streatham Choral, conducted by Calum Fraser, performs Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah with the Brandenburg Sinfonia. The work, first performed in English in Birmingham in 1846, presents episodes from the life of the prophet drawing on Old Testament texts. Markus Matheis sings the title role, with Magnus Walker as Obadiah, Holly Teague as soprano soloist and Lauren Young as mezzo-soprano. The performance runs approximately 2 hours 20 minutes including an interval and is recommended for ages 7 and up.
