About

Dr Monica A. Walker explores the classical myths and symbols woven into the Bank of England’s architecture.

This lecture examines the myths behind sculptural figures and allegories across the Bank’s façades, entrances and interior details, and considers how those stories communicated ideas about commerce, trust and national prosperity. Dr Monica A. Walker FRHistS leads the talk in the Museum Learning Space at 18:00. Admission is free and booking is required. A ticket also includes the concurrent Museum Late.
