Stage Reading: Diamond Dust
About
A stage reading of Pau Coya's play Diamond Dust, part of the 6th Festival of Queer Culture in Spanish in London.
Diamond Dust is a stage reading of Pau Coya's play, inspired by a real 2021 Madrid case, in which Dani reports a brutal homophobic attack that goes viral — yet investigators and public opinion doubt his testimony. The piece explores the uneasy relationship between visibility and credibility faced by LGBTQ+ victims, examining how doubt, shame and collective anxiety circulate once a contested story escapes its subject's control. Performed in English by Bertie Taylor-Smith and Pedro Leandro as part of the 6th Festival of Queer Culture in Spanish in London.
