The Devil's Elbow - Glossop
About
A seated 90-minute evening of storytelling and experimental music inspired by the strange sightings and folklore of the Longdendale valley.
The Devil's Elbow is a collaboration between two writers and three musicians presenting an evening of music and stories drawn from the haunted folklore of the Longdendale valley — lights in the skies, ghosts in the hills and the devil at a hairpin bend on the Woodhead Road. Wordsmiths David Hartley and Annie Acre share tales of local sightings, set to loops and electronics from Rickerly, Vice Vera and Heaton Norris Light Vessel Automatic. The seated 90-minute production starts sharply at 7:30pm and blends storytelling, poetry, rhythm and discord.
