About
Edinburgh's Hogmanay launches with a torchlight procession of thousands of torch bearers led through the Old Town by pipers and Shetland Vikings.
The Torchlight Procession opens Edinburgh's Hogmanay, welcoming over 15,000 torch bearers to light up the capital with a river of fire. Live street theatre, fire performers and drummers warm up the crowd before the Massed Pipes & Drums and Vikings from Shetland's Up Helly Aa Jarl Squad lead the procession from The Meadows through the historic Old Town.
