Cinema Live: The Royal Opera: Cosi Fan Tutte

A cinema screening of The Royal Opera's contemporary new production of Mozart's Così fan tutte, directed by Netia Jones and conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock.

This Cinema Live presentation screens The Royal Opera's staging of Mozart's Così fan tutte, in which two young men, spurred on by a bet, test their girlfriends' fidelity, leading to a dizzying game of seduction and shifting realities. Director Netia Jones reimagines the 1790 comedy of manners through a contemporary lens, blending 18th-century romantic trickery with satirical high-tech deceit. The cast features Louise Alder, Simone McIntosh, Mingjie Lei, Huw Montague Rendall, Gerald Finley as Don Alfonso and Emily Pogorelc as Despina, with Thomas Hengelbrock conducting. The opera is sung in Italian with English subtitles and runs approximately 3 hours 30 minutes with one interval.
