Fashioned From Skin

A museum display of animal skin clothing and accessories from Elmbridge Museum's collection, exploring fashion, status and ethics.

This display examines the use of animal-derived materials in fashion, from survival and status symbols to modern ethical concerns and faux alternatives. Items of animal skin clothing and accessories from the museum's collection are on show, with interpretation considering why these were once wardrobe staples. It can be viewed Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm.
