About

A British Library exhibition exploring Agatha Christie's life and travels through manuscripts, personal belongings and immersive settings, running from October 2026 to June 2027.

This landmark exhibition explores how Agatha Christie's journeys by train and her time on archaeological digs inspired her stories and characters, including Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Visitors move through atmospheric spaces such as a country house, a WWI dispensary, an Orient Express-style carriage and a West End theatre, with hidden clues and Easter eggs to find. Displays include her 1937 Remington typewriter, notes for the Witness for the Prosecution adaptation, her teenage short story typescript, 1917 pharmaceutical exam notes, family photographs and personal letters, many shown for the first time.
