About
The Lord Mayor Elect is admitted to office at Guildhall in a ceremony conducted almost entirely in silence.
For more than eight hundred years the Lord Mayor Elect has been formally admitted as Lord Mayor of the City of London in a ceremony carried out almost wholly without speech. The 2026 ceremony takes place at the medieval Guildhall between 14:30 and 16:00, and members of the public may apply for tickets to watch.
