Sudley House Tour - Miss Holt Speaks

In this costumed historical tour, Emily Parr performs Emma Holt as she reflects on her family life, the legacy of her father George Holt, and the expectations and choices shaping a woman’s life around 1900.

Set in 1900, this costumed interpretation follows Emma Holt through the rooms of her childhood home at Sudley House. Written and performed by Emily Parr, it explores family life, George Holt’s career and philanthropy, and the expectations, opportunities and limits Emma faced as a woman of her time. The house’s paintings, objects and interiors help tell the family’s story. Three adult sessions are listed for 29 October at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
