About

Bath Gilbert and Sullivan Society performs a Roman-era reimagining of the comic opera Patience at The Mission Theatre.

Bath Gilbert and Sullivan Society stages a reimagined version of Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience, relocated to Roman Bath (Aquae Sulis, circa 75 AD). Patrician ladies abandon legionary suitors for two rival poets while the milkmaid Patience confounds the elite with her simple view of love, in a satire of fads and pretension featuring witty wordplay, sparkling melodies and Roman pageantry. Performances run Wednesday to Saturday at 7:30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2:00pm.
