About
A large-scale outdoor mural on two Hayward Gallery façades turns supersized bindi motifs into concentric targets, connecting South Asian cultural symbolism with the cycles of creation and dissolution.
British-Indian artist Bharti Kher’s commission places three-metre target-like bindi forms across the Hayward Gallery’s eastern and southern façades, visible from Belvedere Road and Waterloo Bridge. The work reimagines the concentric circle as both a cosmic motif and a symbol of life’s cycles. The official listing dates the commission from 12 September 2024 to 12 September 2027.
