About

Mike Tingle explores the heraldic shapes and symbols used in Congleton’s flags and banners, the town’s 1272 charter and a heraldic “untruth” in Cinderella.

Look back at the flags and banners created for the 750th anniversary of Congleton’s first Town Charter and learn about the shapes and symbols behind their designs. The talk considers who granted the 1272 charter, Congleton’s history with heraldic rules and an “untruth” in the story of Cinderella. Tickets are £7, or £5 for Friends of the Museum. The programme lists the talk at 11:00; it does not publish an end time.
