About
An exhibition of artworks made by older Birmingham residents in No11 Arts workshops exploring memory, place and community across five neighbourhoods.
Ikon presents Locations, a research and learning programme by No11 Arts exploring how older people connect with the places they live, their memories and their communities. Working across five Birmingham neighbourhoods with artists including Claire Witcomb, Sajida Asif, Ranbir Kaur and Jen Dixon, participants created drawings, paintings, embroidery, collage, clay, print and craft reflecting how their areas have changed. The exhibition offers a collective portrait of Birmingham through the eyes of its older residents. A free launch event on 28 October includes meeting project participants and refreshments.
