Winter Concert
About
An orchestral winter concert featuring Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, Humperdinck's Hänsel and Gretel suite, and Pierné's Concertstück with harpist Catherine White.
The winter concert pairs fairy-tale charm with dramatic romanticism, opening with Humperdinck's Suite from Hänsel and Gretel. Its centrepiece is Pierné's rarely heard Concertstück for Harp and Orchestra, performed by local harpist Catherine White, a long-standing guest of the orchestra. The afternoon concludes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, known for its fiery energy and vivid brass fanfares. The bar and venue open 45 minutes before the performance, with tickets also available on the door.
