About

A solo exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Lucy Ray exploring memory, nostalgia and quiet unease.

Blue Shop Gallery presents Lucy Ray's solo exhibition 'I'll have to remember it differently' in Gallery 2, running 7–31 October 2026 with a private view on Wednesday 7 October, 6–8pm. Working in graphite, oil on panel and pastel on canvas, Ray builds reconstructed compositions from memories of places she has inhabited or visited, blending the real with the imagined. The works explore thresholds between past and future, belonging and estrangement, with shadows as the only hint of human presence. Her recent practice draws on American genre painting and the Arts and Crafts movement, foregrounding slow, handmade processes.
