About
A Maundy Thursday Sung Eucharist with the choir at Selby Abbey, followed by the stripping of the altars and an optional prayer vigil.
Selby Abbey marks Maundy Thursday with a Sung Eucharist sung by the choir, focusing on the Last Supper and including a Renewal of Christian Discipleship. After the service the altars and church furnishings are stripped, leaving the Abbey bare in preparation for Good Friday. Attendees may then remain for a quiet prayer vigil until 10pm if they wish.
