Blackney Wick Film Club 004 - Afrohorror!

A sober, POC-oriented film club screening a spooky double bill of documentary and cult classic horror exploring Afrohorror themes.

The fourth edition of Blackney Wick Film Club's residency at the living womb takes a spooky turn with a double screening of a documentary and a cult classic horror film, both revealed on the night. The organisers frame the programme around Afrohorror — how horror stories reflect cultural anxieties experienced by black bodies — choosing lighter, ghoulish but fun moral tales. The event is a sober space oriented towards people of colour, with allies welcome, and filmmakers are invited to submit themed shorts to screen before the main films. Content warnings for abuse and violence are given.
